If anyone is interested *ahem*, there's a draft of what frostbyte is going to look like here. The "schemes" are the only thing that works in this draft.
Well, if anyone can remember, I said I'd post a copy of my reminders program. Now mind you, it's small, and there's really no bells & whistles, but it does what it's supposed to do and I find it useful. This is the last release I made, I actually want to put more work into it when I find the time. If you feel like giving it a look-see, you can find it here and at the "projects" section below (there's no help file, so if you run into anything email me).
Hey guys, I updated and restructured my spam filters document, download it from this post or under the "projects" sub-menu on the right. Don't check email without it.
So I think it's way overdue that I fill you guys in on the Jersey trip.
I had a blast, Michelle's family is amazingly nice, I mean, you just don't find open and welcoming people like that on a regular basis. Or maybe I just haven't been exposed to anything like it, considering my father would run my friends into the streets with a cutlass if it wasn't for my mother – anyway - it was certainly strange to see another family welcome the "boyfriend" they only heard about.
As you can see by the picture, it snowed, like about 3 times (one of which the rain washed away within 20 minutes), I enjoyed myself thoroughly, Michelle didn't really like the freezing cold too much (to say the least).
I stopped off in NY before Jersey, for about a day total to stay with my half-brother Steve and his wife, who were again, insanely nice people. Steve gave me a bloody laptop and showed me around town, I wish I could've stayed a bit longer. We also had a rather nice conversation about (don't go all strange on me) marriage, I put forth my argument basically stating it's not as special or important as people make it out to be, because I feel (for example) it's like putting on a show for your family. It's so everybody can get together and have an event and it isn't bloody necessary, if you love somebody why must it culminate in marriage for it to "mean something" in the end? But anyway, Steve countered with a pretty wise philosophy, one which I'm sure Michelle could sum up better than me (due wholly to my poor memory and degrading skills at telling a tale), it certainly gave me food for thought, but didn't go changing any of my views, not just yet anyway.
Anyway, back to Jersey, our good old pal Gheorghe made an appearance with his future wife Anna, and we all set out (after much delays) to the Pocono’s. It seemed the moment we got on the road things started changing, suddenly there was snow everywhere, mountains all around, and a true sense of, “Damn, we’re not in Kansas anymore Dorothy.”
We had a time. The two couples in a strange land, getting robbed blind by the Ski joint we went to, so much so that we ended up sticking to snow tubing, because we’d still be paying for it if we did much else.
The hotel room was also unique, not much bigger than my bedroom; there were two single beds (one per couple) which actually turned out not so bad, because folks – it was cold, and although Michelle and I were on that bed you wouldn’t know it because of how tightly intertwined we were (for warmth purposes, of course).
To sum up, I bought WAY too many DVDs, loved seeing snow after over 6 years, and cherished being with Michelle through it all, can’t wait to go back ;)
Haven't checked here in a while, since it usually feels like I'm eavesdropping, but it is rather quite interesting/entertaining reading of these unique bunch of females.
I have learned that:
Everyone has plans to remove their roommates (through whatever means necessary)
It's fucking cold wherever Lisa is
People are still extorting money for the infamous "Bar-B-Que"
Stefan is apparently a pimp the world over
Whenever a woman says tampons in a post, I start giggling like a Japanese schoolgirl
They should really archive by month
On a side note, nobody should worry what the hell they post to their site, if somebody reads something they don't like, tough, go read someone else's blog.
Dré told me that everyone was waiting to see what I came up with, now even though I know he was just being nice ;) I hope the new template doesn't disappoint.
A few things to note, I've got a bunch of things I still need to do, the random image ain't random, the form doesn't work the way I want it to yet, but I thought I'd throw it up in any event because it's completed to a great degree. I started Wednesday morning, trashed 2 concepts (thank the lord) and then finally came up with this. I've also had my nose in my PHP book for hours to get most of things you won't even notice working. I'm also going to try and streamline my search feature (double results along with a host of other strange things happen) and I'm absolutely killing blogger.
All in all, I'm happy with it, let me know if you figure out the one special thing I added ;)
And now, back to normal posting. Thanks for waiting guys!
