I guess I was in the mood.

So one of my Dad's realtors (who's obviously doing more than realty) sent me this:

Anyhow, the Business opportunity I told you about.
This is a multilevel marketing system that can guarantee you a sure financial future.

I am fully enlisted and the plan is working miraculously for me.
The company cuts a check and sends it to you by mail every Tuesday.

A minimal amount to start and you get others involved.
While you are on vacation, others are working the plan for you and making money for you.

I want to train you and equip you to be a vice-president soon with the company. Then you make money as you never believed it.

The guy who signs me up (who happens to be a tenant of mine) made in December alone $57,000. You can do the same.

Watch this power-point presentation and tell me what you think:

And then, please check my website at:

Again, tell me what you think.

This was my response:

I did some research on Lightyear and they do seem to be legitimate, their product(s) however, are not really "Wowing" me. Their prices seem to be on par with Vonage, and in some instances not as flexible (European calls are free with Vonage's Unlimited Plan, I've got to get one of the more expensive plans from Lightyear to achieve the same thing). We won't even get into SunRocket.

I'll be straight up with you, the whole MLM model isn't really my style, I'm not the "salesman" type. Never have been.

Also, the websites seem cobbled together, even parts of the same website are totally (visually) incohesive - and the MLM system causes users to be bounced to many different offshoot websites. In my experience as a user of internet-managed services - and a developer of them - this shatters my confidence in the professionalism of the company. Additionally, their VoIP service is too entangled in their MLM system, a big turn-off for me being of a technology (non-salesman) background (and most of the people I would potentially approach would have similar backgrounds).

The other thing that I believe to be true with many of these MLM models is that you have to invest a considerable amount of time to be truly profitable at it, and even then it's never a guarantee. I simply do not have the time, and this just isn't something that peaks my interest. When you become a millionaire however, I hope you'll take us all out to dinner ;)

All the best,
Justin Gosine
