Well I got an iPod

Devon gave me an iPod back he got from his cousin back in April '04 with a busted screen (because he has no patience for such things). I immediately bought a replacement screen on eBay only to realize the little old iPod had "Generations", and parts don't play nice between them.

There's 1st Gen, 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen, and stupid me bought a 1st Gen screen (because the thing looked like the original large clunker) when it turned out I needed a 2nd Gen screen, greaaaaat.

Then when I searched eBay for 2nd Gen screens none were for sale. I got pissed threw the dismantled iPod in a box and never looked back.

A conversation with Christian made me remember it so I hit eBay, found the screen, got it yesterday, installed it today, and now I got an iPod.

It must have been fate, because this thing is chock full of music I like, Cure, Flaming Lips, Radiohead... unreal. So I'm happy =)

Tattoos

8 people that I know of have my artwork on their body. It's kind of a cool thought.

hi5 & "wasn't this supposed to be a blog?"

After the hundredth (and I may not be joking) invitation to hi5 I finally bit the bullet and searched my Hotmail addresses (I originally joined a few months ago when my brother Steve invited me). Turns out you people are a sad and lonely bunch (*snicker*), so anyone who was already a hi5 member I added. Which negates the possibility of belly-aching a la "Why did you send me this junk!" and lets me jump head-first into this social networking hoopla. It's creepy the ghosts from the past that are on that thing.

And oh yes, about this being a blog.

It seems I'm late in the realization that this thing isn't what it started out as, it was supposed to be about introspection and insightful musings people would actually want to read, not a list of the crap that's currently on my plate. I'm not sure how to get back to that place - funnily enough - because of the crap on my plate, but hopefully acknowledgement is the first step.

P.S. I gotta upload a "shot" video from Troy's party and maybe some pictures, funny stuff people... wait, that's not insightful.... damn.

cleaning house & taking names

Our servers had years of gunk in them; it was nasty (and interesting) business. Strolling down memory lane...

Thanks to the folks who were willing to make the cut on old sites.

Also people, if any of you need the root password for legitimate purposes just let me know, I was *mildly* upset when I said I wasn't giving that out anymore.

Some of the seriously outdated hosted sites, like Just Comics & More, Genesis Comics, and Anime City went bye-bye (hey, they never really appreciated it anyway).

I backed everything up, so if something you wanted disappeared let me know.

In other news I finally helped Christian (Lee) get eTrinidad off the ground, still a lot of work to do, the shopping cart's not even configured yet, but this project was a LONG, LONG time coming.

In other other news I helped out a travel-agent partner of mine, EC Worldwide Travel, and I'm making profit on all online sales, so if you need to travel, go there! We brought a lot of different services together and trying to make them all look like one cohesive site was a challenge because of the limitations on customization, but the prices are better than Orbitz (at least in my comparison searches).

It's an odd experience, because as a company we just build what the clients want (sometimes what they need) and then send them on their way, this is the first time I'll have a vested interest in another company not in any way related to my own. And it's actually not something I ever want to make a habit of.
