the big question
"Saying you know someone is a lie."
I think what we end up knowing are a person's habits, their routines, when we know what they're going to do before they do it we think we know them, when all we really know is how to identify repetition.
As I said in Trace's comments, it is entirely possible to know someone as good as they know themselves, but no one is that forthcoming, and few of us - if any - are that open to the reception.
I would like to perform a test, pull one of the deep dark secrets from the vaults and air it out, see how many people flee from the pungent odor, see how many stick around but never forget the smell, see if anyone actually remains unaffected. I would like to, but I won't, because I'm scared to death.

open season on comments
Over the past 2 weeks or so I've probably gotten over 30 spammed comments, and deleting them manually was taking its toll, luckily the most frequent spammer led me to the solution; after searching on google for the spammer's web address and "comment spam" I found this bomb-ass plug-in, MT-Blacklist. I love companies that allows 3rd party developers to extend the functionality of their software, rock on =P

browsing along
I just spent the last hour going through various trini websites, and things have not gotten better since I left in 99. I did find some funny comics (story-wise) from a guy named pothound though, even it is was only two or three, however the site is on tripod - BEWARE popups if you visit the main site.
I once wanted to keep an online list of all trinidadian sites, but soon decided linking to hundreds of ugly, broken ass homepages wasn't a good idea. I know I've said this before, but bloody hell, I think I know almost every single decent independent trini website, and they're all hosted on frostbyte.
I always try to keep up with good trinidadian design, and I always keep revising my list of trinidadian web companies, I have them in two categories: (1) competition, and (2) disgraceful, but still doing work. Needless to say you can count the first group on one hand.
Thing is, I'm bloody lapsing. I'm letting the vast client pool back home slip through my fingers, allowing it to be gobbled up by morons who don't have the first clue about what they're doing. And the ones that do know what they're doing, well, they piss me off even more, because they're getting the good local portfolio while I sit twiddling my thumbs.
It's even more vexing because when you really think about, even though there is a LOT of potential for good clients back home, only a small portion of that group know what good work actually COSTS, and are willing to pay for it. The rest are trying to lowball the shirt off your back. Just dealing with trinidadians who own businesses up HERE is a huge pain. If they hear a website is going to cost more than a grand they look at you in disbelief, imagine what their reaction would be if I told them it was going to cost close to twenty? No concept of value whatsoever. Well, you get what you pay for right?
*sigh*

adios
The old sites, /digital, /dreaming, /mindsight, /soy and most notably, /neuro have said goodbye, they will be missed.

Archived
The old mindsight has been archived.
I still have some serious cleaning up to do, because I'm a freak and can't stand to have dead links in my archives (*why?*), but the initial hard part is over.
In going through them I've learnt one thing, I used to be a whole lot more interesting, even if I sounded a whole lot more stupid =P
Update: The blogger archives are now complete, I went through them with much care, I killed old links, resituated old files, rebuilt the search indexes, I did a lot. Unfortunately Blogger doesn't let you edit archives by month, it makes you do it individually, so you have to go through a 3 click process to just to get TO the post, which really wasn't working, no, no it wasn't. So after giving up on that I did the final edits in Dreamweaver. Since I don't plan to use blogger again to rebuild any archives I think I'm in the clear.

Fuck the FBI
They want to tap somebody over IP? Do some bloody legwork and hire a fucking hacker, why do vendors have to open backdoors into their systems that could later be exploited? And the Bush administration is backing it, ooooooh, BIG surprise. Why don't you just stick a camera up my ass and be done with it.

it's time to stop the bizkit
I'm THIS (picture me holding my fingers REALLY close together, c'mon, you can do it) close to going in via ftp and deleting Dre's flash movie for threshold, I can only take so much blaring limp each time I visit his blog.
Stop the madness!
Also, doesn't Jadeypoo sound like a little cutesy 5 year old on the voicemail, you just want to pinch her cheeks off now don't you ;p *runs away, very VERY far*
